Yellow Unicorns and Dancing Flies

The rain in spain falls mainly on new zealand! But at least it's warm. Still in Kerikeri. I have been trying to go on a kiwi walk on this local island, which happens at night, and there is a chance of seeing this oh so famous little wee bird. The weather keeps cancelling it though.
The woman I'm staying with, Anna, writes poems, and 13 years ago she published a little booklet of them. They sold out and people wanted more, but she never got around to republishing it, so I told her I would help pick out some poems to add to it and get it cracking! Her grandson Simeon is letting me borrow his car, a small yellow thing, which I call the yellow unicorn. He got a new car recently so I have wheels for NZ now. No more hitchhiking stories.
I'm in the library, my only computer access, and this is the only library I've been in which plays music in the background. They even played Journey, Dont Stop Beleivin'. A favorite of mine.
In other exciting news, the sand flies have worked a number on me, dancing thier little dance of pain on my poor ankles. It was 5 days ago when they found my new foreign flesh, and the itching has not gotten better. Worse than mosquitos, fo sho.
Still no camera. Hope this is entertaining enough. Kisses!
